Homeware to Love Right Now

So, my partner Michael and I have just bought our first home together! As anyone who has ever bought their first home or even moved into a new space will know, you can quickly become rather obsessed with researching beautiful new interiors (and creating several hundred Pinterest boards along the way). Having a love for design and an eye drawn to colour and pattern, this has only elevated my interior researching obsession.

I like to think we're being quite selective about the pieces we buy to go into our new home, having not moved in just yet I don't want to get too carried away (it's definitely me more than him that will be the one to get carried away). However, we have started to visit shops and websites we both love for inspiration, for now its mainly high street/kind on the budget type of places (how good is HomeSense?!) but I also hope to add some one of a kind pieces from independent designer/makers and vintage items. In a future blog post I plan to share the pieces we've bought, the colour we've painted the walls, the plates we decided on etc. just generally how the flat turns out but for now I thought I would share some of the interior prints, patterns and colours that I've spotted and loved over the last few weeks. Sadly a one bed flat may not be home to so much colour and pattern but can't hurt to look, right? *hides credit card*

Two of my favourites have to be Swoon Editions and Anthropologie. We've got some furniture from Swoon already and I've really fallen in love with this orange chair! The glass lampshade was a actually a find by Michael (his choice was however not the pink...). As for Anthropologie, I'll take one of everything.

John Lewis have got some great bits in at the moment, their collaboration with Patternity was one we both headed straight for and we've gone with the monochrome bathroom collection (hoping to add some colourful art prints to the bathroom too). We've also nabbed ourselves the West Elm grey stripe office chair (it swivels!). We have a small balcony area and I love this mint coloured garden bench and palm coloured table! Oliver Bonas is also a favourite with pastel colours, slightly abstract use of print and pattern and this chest of drawers has been on my wish list for quite sometime.

Zara home is all about textures and block prints at the moment, adding pops of colours via accessories is a look that could work well in a one bed flat. I'm also really loving coloured glass at the moment! Finally, Bisley office furniture...! The blue desk top drawers are without a doubt on my wish list but we'll have to see if we're brave enough for the other colours (the pink might be pushing my luck slightly).

New home and the final choice of interiors post coming soon!
